WE HAVE THE INTERNET AT MY HOUSE!!

1/8/09

Thoughts to explore more on later:

- This is a crippling fucking system, no other way around it. If there is the slightest bit of conscience in someone's head, there shouldn't be any possibility that any of this is "working". It isn't working. It isn't. Watch Bill Hicks - marketing on YouTube, dead on.

- I lost my wallet again. Second time in three months. Sucks!

- Moving abroad? Possibility.

So, I realize I haven't updated in months. I've moved since then, and don't have internet at the place I'm currently residing at so it makes it tough to update as often as I did before. However, I plan on trying to write as often as possible again and get this back to the way it was.

Today is the first day of 2009. It doesn't feel any different, seriously. However, I digress - 2008 saw a lot of changes. I'm living in California now, my circle friends has grown infinitely smaller, and I'm working for a company I swore I would never work for (though it's working out for the best). I'm in a really great and mostly healthy relationship for once that has proven to work itself out to be really great and uplifting. I marked myself forever with getting my right hand tattooed by Jon Hall in LA. Next up is my left hand by Nick. Regardless, things always change - one of the only truths we really know in this life. My birthday is in 19 days, now I'll be 22 years old.

I have never been one to make resolutions or treat the new year as a celebration, but this year, I decided it would be appropriate to make a list of resolutions for 2009 and I'll share them here:

New Years Resolutions:
- run/exercise more, at least three times a week
- sharpen that vegan edge
- get passport, visit Mexico
- write letters to friends back home
- eat much healthier
- clean out closet + donate to the free box
- stop stealing unless neccessary
- read two books a month and write on them
- take one photo a day, and post on blog
- save $$$
- take one big trip a year with Kayla
- plan trip to Spain or Greece
- stop taking anything for granted
- get left hand tattooed by nick
- expand musical likeness - specifically classical and old jazz
- figure out next fall's semester by February
- enjoy Santa Barbara more, go hiking once a month
- leave Bank of America and join credit union
- save money for Mac, bike, and car

It's a pretty long list, but I'd like to come back to this entry in a year and see what has been done.

While flying back home, I made this list in my moleskin on the "Must-Have Airline Flying Kit".

For all my international/traveling friends:

- ear plugs, nice ones (for the noise while you're trying to sleep)
- tylenol/motrin (for those headaches that just seem to pop up)
- iPod
- hand sanitizer (preferably lavender)
- orbit gum (wintermint)
- moleskin
- water
- almonds
- nice pens (no bics, no "ultra grips")
- light jacket (not a ton of layers)
- cologne/atomizer
- exfoliating face wash (getting off those long flights, you need a quick energizer)

EDIT: Eh, my car got fixed. Dalan is still my boy. I felt no need to keep my venting on a situation that was solved on here any longer.

I will update later today with pictures, not necessarily taken today. I have a bunch on my card that I need to upload. Starting tomorrow, I will update with a new picture taken every day. I got a new lens from my parents for Christmas, so I will show pictures of that and some other gifts I received later on.
